A Company Brain answers questions from approved organisational sources. Platform selection depends on data, identities, publication channel, operations and residency—not an unsupported delivery-time promise.
This comparison was reviewed on 8 September 2026 against Microsoft and Replit primary documentation. Unverified project durations, customer outcomes and savings percentages have been removed.
Copilot Studio
Often fits when knowledge lives in Microsoft 365 and an internal agent is used in Teams, Microsoft 365 or SharePoint.
Strengths: low-code tools, supported Microsoft 365 knowledge sources, Microsoft identity and several publishing channels.
Check: Copilot Credits or licence rights, premium connectors, external users, data movement and feature limits. The billing rates include defined B2E use for authenticated Microsoft 365 Copilot users; that does not create a free B2C portal.
Microsoft Foundry and Azure AI Search
Often fits when a development team needs direct control of retrieval, models, tools, evaluation and interfaces.
Strengths: flexible development components, regional Azure resources and a custom security and operating architecture.
Check: model and tool availability by region, deployment type, Azure consumption and custom permission filters. Microsoft's Azure OpenAI privacy documentation says regional Standard deployments stay within the selected geography; Global and Data Zone deployments follow different processing rules. “Azure in Switzerland” therefore does not mean every data flow always remains in Switzerland.
Replit
Often fits when an individual web application is to be built and published on an integrated platform.
Strengths: Agent-assisted development, custom web UI and integrated publishing.
Check: Replit is not a cloud-neutral hosting promise. The mandatory Replit documentation review confirms that published apps run on Replit infrastructure backed by Google Cloud and cannot be deployed as Replit Deployments to an arbitrary cloud provider. Hosting is primarily in the US; Enterprise customers may request EU hosting. Enterprise pricing is custom, and the documentation does not support a “CHF 40 per developer” baseline (Replit Pro and Enterprise).
Microsoft 365 permissions, Teams channels and business-system access require application-specific integration. Replit should not be marked as providing Swiss hosting.
Internal canvas or external portal?
- Internal/B2E: authenticated employees with existing Entra ID and Microsoft 365 rights; Copilot Studio often fits.
- Partner/B2B: guest identities and explicitly shared data; verify each service's licence and access model.
- Customer/B2C or anonymous: plan a portal, abuse protection, consent, support and consumption costs. An internal canvas is not a licence-free public portal.

Conclusion
Copilot Studio is not automatically cheapest, Foundry is not automatically “Swiss”, and Replit is not provider-neutral or hosted in Swiss datacentres. A defensible selection starts with a documented data flow and current contractual quotes.
