The Challenge
Kwaxx manages multiple SME clients with different payroll structures, contract models and cantonal compliance requirements.
All communication ran via email and phone, mutations were entered manually, and payroll runs were error-prone.
Off-the-shelf solutions like Personio are too generic and don't cover Swiss specifics — canton-dependent withholding tax, Abacus write-back, GDPR-compliant tenant separation.

Our Solution
We built a complete HR management suite from scratch: employee dossiers with Azure Blob Storage and history view, structured mutation workflow with full audit trail, payroll run with dry-run function and direct Abacus write-back, inbox with ePost integration, and calendar/onboarding checklists. Under the hood: custom BPMN 2.0 workflow engine for visually designed HR processes, passkey & TOTP authentication via Better Auth, native iOS/Android app on Expo SDK 54, bidirectional Abacus sync — all with full tenant isolation on PostgreSQL.
