The Challenge
Inselspital coordinates hundreds of research projects simultaneously.
Steps like project idea, ethics review, funding, clinical validation, and regulatory approvals ran via email chains, Excel lists, and personal drives.
Researchers, coordinators, study leads, and the executive board had no shared status.

Our Solution
We built a central SharePoint research portal covering the full project lifecycle. Structured project dossiers with clearly defined phases: idea & concept, development, test & validation, funding, approvals.
Power Automate workflows route projects through all approval stages with a full audit trail. Power BI dashboards show pipeline, budget status, and open approvals in real time.

Hundreds of research projects now run in a single portal. Approval cycles are shorter, compliance evidence is audit-proof, and reporting to funders happens at the push of a button instead of days of manual Excel work.
