Important: Your solution does not have to be open source. The video shows the demo — the code remains with you.

Tips for Your Hackathon Submission

1. Start Small

The best hackathon projects solve a specific problem. Don’t try to save the whole world — focus on a clear problem, an elegant solution. An SPFx web part that addresses a real pain point beats an overly ambitious platform.

2. Prioritize the Use Case

The jury evaluates not just code quality. They assess whether the solution solves a real problem. Start with the use case, not with the technology.

3. The Video Matters

The submission is video-based. A brilliant project without a good video loses to a good project with a clear demo. Take your time with the presentation.

4. Form Teams

A mix of developers, designers, and business people makes the strongest team. The business perspective makes the difference between “cool” and “useful.”
